Please do write him that letter. My wife is the sole breadwinner too and has been for years due to my being unable to work. I think it’s great you’ve made all the money. There are so many talented women out there and it’s nice to see them getting more recognition in the workplace, although the bias does still exist for the most part, but it’s getting a little better.
