It’s the same in Germany. Facts, facts, facts (in German) is a saying there. It’s more about knowledge than intellect, though. They just want to display that they know a lot about politics and other various subjects. Unlike here in America, where we like display how much we don’t know. I think it’s more boring in Europe, though I do love it there, and that’s one of the reasons people acquire useless facts and stuff, because there’s nothing better to do. 😁
