I think this is really key, trying your best to identify the issue that is causing you the problem. I know there is some newer research out linking physical health issues as one cause for mental health issues. In the sense that there may be a neurological cause as opposed to it being situational or existential depression. But obviously only for a certain subset.

I think that’s the best you can do: try to identify the cause and then go from there.

I know my inborn temperament is such that I’m more wired toward depression. So even if life were perfect, I’d still be prone to getting the blues on occasion.
