I think the writing talent is there, no problem. You write very well. I just think there’s an element of luck involved in being a top earner on Medium. You could do everything right, worker harder than anybody else, and still not make enough money to sustain yourself.

Do you have a big social media presence? What about starting an independent blog? You could continue to publish on Medium as well, but with less frequency.

I don’t know. Just thinking out loud here.
