I lived in Frankfurt, Germany, for a few years and while Germany is a relatively clean country, for the most part, the amount of dirt and trash and grossness in some parts of the city was uniquely distgusting and made me fully accept and appreciate the dirtiness of NYC, where I would move to next. I'm a much bigger fan of American trash and feces and human limbs on city streets than I am of European ones.
