I appreciate your perspective and agree in some ways. For me, though, forgiveness is usually imperative, so I can rid myself of the emotional burden of hating on that person. And, usually, the person I've forgiven means something to me. That is, I still care for that person in some way. I think it's kind of easy, however, not to forgive douchebags that have no purpose in your life.
