I agree about being compassionate toward someone with an addiction problem. But at some point, the person has to take responsibility for themselves and face their demons. I applaud people who have been addicted to either alcohol or drugs and get the help they need and are now sober. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary if one wants to have a decent life.
