Honestly, this is fucking beautiful. My parents were the complete opposite, and my wife sometimes struggles with this when our kids test her patience. Perhaps because I'm chronically ill and not full of energy to yell (or maybe I wouldn't yell regardless), I always try to practice what your mom did. That's a great parent right there.
