Having lived in Germany and visited frequently the Western European countries, I concur. Germany has a good quality of life and a strong economy (at least it did, I don't know about currently). Germany was also the last place on earth I had envisioned living, too, and I'd had zero interest in it. Germany is a sneaky little bugger. Give it some time and attention and it'll capture your heart.
