Consumerism will definitely suck you in! I agree with your sentiments.

My kids have too many toys. Both my wife and I had vowed that we wouldn’t spoil our kids with lots of toys. ‘Course the opposite has happened. Although, it really is the fault of their grandparents, aunts and uncles for gifting them so many toys over the years. I try to encourage my kids to focus on the simple things. Games are a bigger hit over here than toys. Plus, I figure we can just donate all the toys at some point.
