A Rap Song for My Wife
“What did I forget?”
I wrote a rap song for my wife this morning called “What Did I Forget?” It would probably be better if I performed it live at a dive bar in South Boston. Nevertheless, since I won’t be doing that, here it is:
“What Did I Forget?”
What did I just forget?
My keys and phone I bet
I’m stuck on first, got no bratwurst
My husband is a mess
And every time I roll
With moms who sure can bowl
I do a little dance
In my comfy yoga pants
Yo, what did I forget?
My kids’ apple slices snack I bet
Their snack of choice
I can hear my father-in-law’s loud voice
From Boston to The MET
In NYC — yeah, you know me
My husband is a mess
These moms on Facebook groups
Be talkin’ bout this and that
Or that and this
Look away and you’ll miss
The petty comments
The slight digs
The virtue-signaling
And the swigs
Of white wine while online
These ladies of the West
Yo, what did I forget?
Ah, who cares?
My husband is a mess.
